About the role
- Axcelis Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Administrator to join our dynamic IT team.
- This position will be instrumental in ensuring the performance, availability, and security of our network environment-spanning architecture, operations, and incident response.
- We're looking for a hands-on technical leader who thrives at the intersection of traditional networking and modern cybersecurity practices.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and optimize network performance to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, Wireless, VPN, Data Center).
- Develop and maintain network diagrams, documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and policies.
- Collaborate closely with other IT teams (Systems, Applications, DevOps) to ensure secure integration of new technologies and services.
- Lead strategic planning and technical discussions for network initiatives.
- This critical role will require advanced network administration to monitor, design, implement, and protect our enterprise infrastructure.

Requirements
- 7+ years of progressive experience in network administration.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, 802.1X, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, and other network protocols.
- Hands-on experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN, NAC.
- Proficiency in diagnostic and troubleshooting tools.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, or related field.
- Experience with cloud networking and security in Azure/AWS.
- Experience with Fortinet firewalls, Aruba/HPE Airwave, Aruba/HPE ClearPass, and SIEM.
- Required:
- Expertise in enterprise network design, implementation, and management.
- Preferred:
- Relevant industry certifications (Aruba/HPE, CCNA/CCNP, CISSP, CompTIA)

- Administer firewalls (Fortinet preferred), NAC, SIEM, and VPN solutions.

Compensation
- $92,225.60 - $138,338.40
- This base salary range reflects the typical compensation for this role across U.S. locations.
