About the role

  • The Mechanical Designer II works on matters of basic to intermediate complexity under the responsible charge of the registered Mechanical Engineer.

Responsibilities

  • Work on a variety of mechanical assignments supporting all phases of design including initial planning, feasibility, scope and concept development, detailed design, construction documentation, and construction administration
  • Assist with 3D modeling and design, conducting field investigations, performing red-to-black markup/review tasks, and producing discipline deliverables

  • The Mechanical Designer II performs their job functions under the supervision of a project's Engineer-of-Record.
  • This role is expected to work closely with other architects, engineers, and designers, as well as other internal and external team members to ensure a coordinated, constructible, and complete design.
  • Tasks include assisting with 3D modeling and design, conducting field investigations, performing red-to-black markup/review tasks, and producing discipline deliverables.

Nice to have

  • Basic proficiency in Revit required
  • AutoCAD MEP is preferred
  • Piping, duct work prefered
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office preferred
  • Experience with implementing fundamental design aspects of HVAC, mechanical utility, and piping system design preferred
  • Applicable Associate degree or technical trade school certification
  • 3 to 7 years of experience required including field experience in either a design or construction capacity
