About the role
- The Controls Technician 2 will work in conjunction with the maintenance, production and engineering departments.
- Some duties may be optional on an individual basis.
- The Group has close to 12,000 employees, 25 R&D centers, 8 recycling centers and 33 production sites.
Responsibilities
- For emergency manufacturing and maintenance support, the automation technician may receive direction from the director of maintenance or plant manager(s).
- The Controls Technician 2 will implement equipment and/or process improvements through the effective use of PLC's, servo or variable speed drives, camera technology, robotic technology and any other resource(s) available to him/her.
- he ability to conceptualize, design, build and implement simple to moderate control systems and manufacturing equipment.
- The primary job responsibility is to support production through effective and timely equipment downtime troubleshooting.
- Develop and implement equipment process improvements through the use of technology and automation.
Requirements
- Daily communication and interface with suppliers will be required.
- Must be trained in and accountable for lock out / tag out policies and procedures.
Nice to have
- Associate's Degree in electrical/electronics engineering is a plus, but not required.
