About the role
- Position: Administrative Assistant - Full-Time, Permanent Location: Natuashish, NL About the IRTS The Innu Round Table Secretariat is the implementation arm of the Round Table.
- The Secretariat was established to coordinate the administration of shared priorities including capacity development, program devolution, and management of the tripartite process with Canada and the Province of Newfoundland & Labrador.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support including drafting correspondence, scheduling meetings, and managing calendars.
- Prepare and maintain documents, reports, and presentations.
- Organize and maintain filing systems, databases, and records.
- Support proactive communication and promotion of the Income Support Program.
- Assess service requests and ensure the rationale for support is clearly identified.
Requirements
- Diploma in Office Administration, Business Administration, or a related field, with at least 3-5 years of relevant experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of Innu culture and history is considered a strong asset.
- Experience working with Indigenous organizations is an asset.
- Support management and staff with special projects and other administrative tasks as required.
- or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Fluency in Innu-Aimun is considered a strong asset.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.
