About the role

  • Position: Administrative Assistant - Full-Time, Permanent Location: Natuashish, NL About the IRTS The Innu Round Table Secretariat is the implementation arm of the Round Table.
  • The Secretariat was established to coordinate the administration of shared priorities including capacity development, program devolution, and management of the tripartite process with Canada and the Province of Newfoundland & Labrador.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support including drafting correspondence, scheduling meetings, and managing calendars.
  • Prepare and maintain documents, reports, and presentations.
  • Organize and maintain filing systems, databases, and records.
  • Support proactive communication and promotion of the Income Support Program.
  • Assess service requests and ensure the rationale for support is clearly identified.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Office Administration, Business Administration, or a related field, with at least 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of Innu culture and history is considered a strong asset.
  • Experience working with Indigenous organizations is an asset.
  • Support management and staff with special projects and other administrative tasks as required.
  • or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Fluency in Innu-Aimun is considered a strong asset.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.
