Responsibilities

  • Own and develop the multi-year category strategy for construction, facilities infrastructure, MEP services, utilities, and site/civil work aligned to VulcanForms' capacity expansion roadmap.
  • Lead commercial negotiations and contract execution for general contractors, MEP subcontractors, utilities providers, and facilities services vendors.
  • Partner with Facilities and Engineering to scope capital projects, define bid packages, run competitive sourcing events, and execute contracts from award through project closeout.
  • Manage a preferred panel of construction and facilities suppliers; qualify new contractors and oversee performance against cost, schedule, safety, and quality KPIs.
  • Develop and maintain should-cost models for construction and MEP scopes; conduct independent cost reviews and challenge GC estimates.
  • Lead procurement activities for the V2 facility ramp and future capacity expansion sites, including site preparation, utilities infrastructure, and building systems.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain and subcontractor risks on active capital projects; maintain risk registers and escalate schedule or cost threats early.
  • Support permitting, utility incentive programs, and local/state economic development negotiations in coordination with Legal and Finance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or Supply Chain preferred.

Compensation

  • Define and deliver an annual savings and value roadmap for the category; report to VP Supply Chain and leadership on project pipeline and procurement milestones.

  • Job Purpose The Global Category Manager (GCM) - Construction & Facilities owns the sourcing strategy, contract management, and supplier relationships for all capital and operating spend related to VulcanForms' built environment.
  • Reporting to the VP of Supply Chain, this role is central to VulcanForms' capacity expansion agenda and partners directly with the Facilities, Engineering, and Finance functions to ensure on-time, on-budget project delivery.
  • Own and develop the multi-year category strategy for construction, facilities infrastructure, MEP services, utilities, and site/civil work aligned to VulcanForms' capacity expansion roadmap. • Lead commercial negotiations and contract execution for general contractors, MEP subcontractors, utilities providers, and facilities services vendors. • Partner with Facilities and Engineering to scope capital projects, define bid packages, run competitive sourcing events, and execute contracts from award through project closeout. • Manage a preferred panel of construction and facilities suppliers; qualify new contractors and oversee performance against cost, schedule, safety, and quality KPIs. • Develop and maintain should-cost models for construction and MEP scopes; conduct independent cost reviews and challenge GC estimates. • Lead procurement activities for the V2 facility ramp and future capacity expansion sites, including site preparation, utilities infrastructure, and building systems. • Identify and mitigate supply chain and subcontractor risks on active capital projects; maintain risk registers and escalate schedule or cost threats early. • Establish VulcanForms' preferred contractor qualification program, insurance requirements, safety protocols, and supplier codes of conduct for the construction category. • Support permitting, utility incentive programs, and local/state economic development negotiations in coordination with Legal and Finance. • Define and deliver an annual savings and value roadmap for the category; report to VP Supply Chain and leadership on project pipeline and procurement milestones.
  • Qualifications • Bachelor's degree required; degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or Supply Chain preferred. • 10+ years of progressive procurement, project management, or construction management experience, with at least 5 years managing construction or facilities categories at a senior or leadership level. • Demonstrated experience leading sourcing and contracting for major capital construction projects ($10M+ scope) in an industrial or manufacturing environment. • Strong working knowledge of construction contract structures (AIA, NEC, lump sum, GMP), MEP systems, and utility procurement. • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent capital projects with cross-functional stakeholders across engineering, finance, and operations. • Financial acumen including capital budget management, cost estimating, and variance analysis. • Exceptional negotiation skills and experience managing general contractors and specialty subcontractors. • Ability to operate independently and drive decisions in an ambiguous, high-growth environment.
  • Preferred Qualifications • Experience supporting manufacturing facility builds, cleanrooms, or advanced production environments. • Familiarity with energy procurement, utility rate negotiation, and sustainability or energy efficiency programs. • Prior involvement in site selection, economic development incentives, or municipal permitting processes. • CPSM, CPM, CCM, or equivalent professional certification. • Experience with ERP and capital project management systems (Epicor, Procore, or similar). • Exposure to defense or government-regulated facility construction requirements (ITAR, DFARS).
  • Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.

  • The annual base salary range for this position is $110,200.00 to $151,000.00.
