Lead design and implementation of scalable data pipelines, transformation frameworks, and data models

We are seeking a Principal Data Engineer to lead the design and evolution of data systems, pipelines, and modeling strategies across Versant's data platform.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role focused on building scalable, well-governed data systems and setting standards for how data is structured, transformed, and consumed across the organization.
This role partners closely with Platform Development and Data Governance to ensure data systems are both technically robust and contract-driven.

8-10+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles
Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, with familiarity in distributed data systems
Strong understanding of:

Exposure to ML platforms or services (e.g., Databricks, AWS Bedrock)
Familiarity with analytics and BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, or similar)
Experience working in media, streaming, or large-scale enterprise environments
Prior experience modernizing or integrating legacy systems within a cloud-native architecture
Additional Requirements:
This role is primarily based in NJ with flexibility to work in the HQ office as needed.

$170,000 - $200,000 (bonus and long-term incentive eligible)
