About the role

- Positions allocated to this classification report to a designated supervisor and work under close supervision.
Responsibilities
- This position serves as a Building Attendant for the Cultural Affairs Division within the City of Gainesville Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department.
- The role provides on-site support for cultural facilities and events, helping ensure spaces are prepared, welcoming, and operating smoothly for programs, rentals, and public activities.
- The Building Attendant plays an important role in supporting these activities by assisting with facility oversight, event setup and cleanup, basic facility maintenance, and guest services.
Requirements
- Valid Florida Driver's License required.
- May be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Knowledge of general janitorial and maintenance tasks.
- Ability to work effectively with coworkers and the general public.
- Ability to keep records and prepare reports.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to read and understand complex work schedules and diagrams.

- LICENSES/CERTIFICATES Valid Florida Drivers License required.

- The Cultural Affairs Division produces festivals, concerts, performances, exhibitions, educational workshops, historic and cultural programs, ceremonies, and community celebrations.
