About the role
- The Mechanical Maintenance Technician is a day position at the Joliet polystyrene plant.
- The job will require some overtime work and extended hours on weekends, nights and holidays depending on plant needs.
- It is necessary for maintenance technicians to be on-call on a rotation basis.
Requirements
- Perform all duties with a high degree of dedication to safety and environmental stewardship.
- High school diploma is required.
- Must be a self-starter and self-motivated.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work at heights.
- Must be able to wear a respirator and self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).
- Ability to read equipment prints, secure information from OEM manuals, and proficiency with measurement tools (micrometers, dial calipers etc.).
- Knowledge of basic machining including lathes, mills, and presses.
- Working knowledge of mechanical seals, flush pans, and seal failure analysis.
- Working knowledge of laser alignment techniques.
Compensation
- Grade and salary level offered to the successful candidate will be appropriate to the job duties and commensurate with the candidate's experience.
