About the role

The Mechanical Maintenance Technician is a day position at the Joliet polystyrene plant.
The job will require some overtime work and extended hours on weekends, nights and holidays depending on plant needs.
It is necessary for maintenance technicians to be on-call on a rotation basis.

Perform all duties with a high degree of dedication to safety and environmental stewardship.
High school diploma is required.
Must be a self-starter and self-motivated.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Must be able to work at heights.
Must be able to wear a respirator and self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).
Ability to read equipment prints, secure information from OEM manuals, and proficiency with measurement tools (micrometers, dial calipers etc.).
Knowledge of basic machining including lathes, mills, and presses.
Working knowledge of mechanical seals, flush pans, and seal failure analysis.
Working knowledge of laser alignment techniques.

Grade and salary level offered to the successful candidate will be appropriate to the job duties and commensurate with the candidate's experience.
