About the role
- Reporting directly to the Vice President, Transit, the General Manager, Transit is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and growth of the Transit division in the Greater Toronto Area.
- Identify opportunities for service improvements, cost efficiencies, and innovation within transit operations.
- Monitor divisional financial performance, budgets, and revenue opportunities to ensure profitability and responsible fiscal management.
Responsibilities
- The General Manager will drive operational excellence, financial performance, and customer satisfaction while fostering strong relationships with municipal partners, employees, and community stakeholders.
- Lead initiatives that support growth, service excellence, operational efficiency, and financial sustainability.
- Review operational performance metrics and implement strategies to continuously improve service without interruption Leadership & Team Development Provide leadership, mentorship, and coaching to managers, supervisors, and operational staff.
- Support workforce planning by partnering with Talent Acquisition to attract, hire, and retain qualified team members.
- Build strong customer relationships through proactive communication and engagement.
- Support business development efforts including new contract opportunities, proposals, and service expansions.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure integrity of operational, financial, and customer records.

Compensation
