About the role
- The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing financial operations, reporting, budgeting, and compliance with our real estate and construction division.
- This role plays an important role in ensuring financial integrity, supporting business decisions, and optimizing financial performance.
- This is a full-time, permanent position that requires regular onsite presence at our 1123 Leslie St office location.
Responsibilities
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes.
- Manage external audits and liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies.
- Develop and maintain internal controls and financial procedures to ensure accuracy and mitigate risk.
- Collaborate with development, legal, and operations teams on contracts, project costing, and reporting.
Requirements
- University Degree/College Diploma in Business/Finance/Economics
- Canadian CPA / CFA designation required
- 5+ years of progressive experience in finance/accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a Controller or Finance Manager role
- Prior experience in real estate development, construction, or property management is required.
- Strong understanding of project-based accounting, cost tracking, and real estate financing structures.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Must have University Degree/College Diploma in Business/Finance/Economics
- Strong communication skills and people management skills.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
- Experienced in accounting software, Oracle experience is an asset
Compensation
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and project-specific financial reports.
- Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial models for ongoing and upcoming real estate and construction projects.
