Responsibilities
- Oversees all visual design efforts to support general accessibility and Section 508 compliance.
- Develops and maintains relationships with key peers in marketing, branding, UX leaders, IT leaders, and others to identify and plan creative solutions.
- Develops proof-of-concepts and prototypes of easy-to-navigate user interfaces (UIs) that consist of web pages with graphics, icons, and color schemes that are visually appealing to provide a consistent look and feel that incorporates user experience feedback.
- Ensures the use of responsive designs based on current best practices.
- Develops, maintains, and ensures compliance of application release management, outage management, and change control processes and standards.
- Shows familiarity with code, test, and debug documents and implements web applications using a variety of platforms.
- Supports up to 12 Accessibility Liaison events to include presentation, meeting minutes, and follow-up action items.
- Provides customer service desk support for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) accessibility complaints and ICT Accessibility testing.
- Supports and leads accessibility related trainings to include Section 508 awareness, Creating Accessible Documents, and Fundamentals in Accessibility Training (FIAT) (up to 50 total trainings in a year).
- Supports and provides subject matter expertise and customer support to system owners and technical personnel to ensure 100% of ICT systems are tested for Section 508 compliance and meet SharePoint site testing goals.
Requirements
- An active TS clearance is required.
- Defines, creates, communicates, and manages resource plans and other required project documentation, such as style guides, and provides updates as necessary.
- Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- In the absence of years of experience, certifications or past work may be used to show the level of experience needed to perform at this level.
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing Section 508-compliant designs, with a strong understanding of accessibility principles, usability testing, and inclusive design standards.
Compensation
- $60,000 - $180,000 USD
