About the role
- The UL Solutions Modeling and Simulation team and Research and Development team are seeking a driven and team-oriented individual to work with us on modeling and simulation of emerging fire and explosion safety problems.
- Many of these problems will focus on the energy and fire protection industries, including lithium-ion battery thermal runaway, battery energy storage system gas explosions and fires in the built environment.
- A successful candidate will be creative, curious, adaptable to a fast-paced and multi-disciplined environment and willing to work collaboratively with a team of other engineers and scientists to problem solve.
Requirements
- Robust knowledge of heat transfer, combustion, material decomposition, fire dynamics and computational fluid dynamics is required.
- Robust knowledge of state-of-the-art computational fluid dynamics software and finite element analysis software is also required.
