About the role

  • Conducts comprehensive search and evaluation activities and generates competitive landscapes focused on identifying promising therapeutic assets and technologies to expand the company's pipeline.
  • Participates in due diligence activities, including review of scientific documentation and coordination with subject matter experts.
  • Assists in the preparation of proposals, negotiations, and presentations for licensing opportunities, working cross-functionally with internal teams to advance business development objectives. _

Requirements

  • Master's degree in scientific field or MBA and 6+ years of similar experience noted above OR
  • PhD in scientific field and 4+ years of similar experience noted above
  • Strong understanding of biotechnology/pharmaceutical competitive landscape
  • Strong knowledge of biopharmaceutical technologies, physical and life sciences, product development, and regulatory approval processes
  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines across a variety of projects/programs, with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across functions

Nice to have

  • BS/BA degree in life sciences, finance, business or similar field and 8+ years of business development, venture capital, investment research, investment banking, corporate development or related experience
  • 2+ years of biotechnology/pharmaceutical in scientific based role preferred OR

Skills

  • Leads valuation work on potential business development opportunities
  • Monitors industry trends, companies, technologies and therapeutic areas of relevance to the Company
  • Coordinates both internal and external diligence team meetings
  • Coordinates the Company's efforts at partnering conferences
  • Assists with background research on topics such as novel targets, therapeutic areas, companies, and competitive landscapes
  • Works with vendors, investment banks or other third-party consultants assisting Neurocrine on BD opportunities
  • Creates and reviews BD presentations

Compensation

  • The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $158,100.00-$216,000.00.

  • Supports Business Development activities through identification, scientific evaluation, and analysis of potential licensing opportunities and partnerships in the biopharmaceutical space. Conducts comprehensive search and evaluation activities and generates competitive landscapes focused on identifying promising therapeutic assets and technologies to expand the company's pipeline. Performs detailed scientific assessment of opportunities, including analysis of mechanism of action, preclinical/clinical data, and therapeutic/market potential. Maintains deep scientific understanding of current and future trends in therapeutic innovations, with particular focus on emerging technologies and treatment modalities. Participates in due diligence activities, including review of scientific documentation and coordination with subject matter experts. Contributes to the development of business cases and leads deal execution processes with a strong demonstration of business, IP, and legal comprehension. Assists in the preparation of proposals, negotiations, and presentations for licensing opportunities, working cross-functionally with internal teams to advance business development objectives. _
