About the role

  • Methodist Health System in Dallas, Texas is recruiting for a General Surgery Residency Program Director.
  • The Program Director is responsible for oversight and coordination of all aspects of this ACGME accredited 5-year training program with 3 categorical residents per year.
  • The position reports directly to the Vice President of Graduate Medical Education.

  • Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience required, General Surgery Residency teaching experience preferred

Compensation

  • The Program Director is responsible for oversight and coordination of all aspects of this ACGME accredited 5-year training program with 3 categorical residents per year.
  • The 5-year training program has 3 categorical residents per year and 3 preliminary intern positions - 18 residents in total.

  • Coordinate the selection, hiring, evaluation, and clinical/educational oversight of all surgical residents
  • Lead continuous quality improvement efforts for the Program in education and clinical care
  • Maintain the Program in a fully accredited status with the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and assure compliance with ACGME Program Requirements for General Surgery
