  • General Summary This position is responsible for sampling, testing, and inspecting construction materials or elements in a laboratory or field setting to ensure compliance with the supplier and/or owner specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with supplier and owner specifications by sampling and testing construction materials, including soil, aggregate, hot mix asphalt (HMA), and Portland cement concrete (PCC), to maintain quality standards
  • Follow the requirements for materials quality outlined in the company management system (GMS) and the Construction Materials Playbook to ensure compliance and maintain high standards

Requirements

  • Regional or State Agency certification for material being sampled, tested, inspected required
  • 1+ years of related experience required
  • Basic computer skills, basic proficiency Microsoft Excel
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
  • The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to operate a computer keyboard.
  • The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms.
  • Knowledge of and compliance with OSHA and MSHA rules and regulations

Compensation

  • $50,832.00 - $76,247.00 Pay may vary based upon relevant experience, skills, location, and education among other factors. ​
  • Granite will NOT pay a fee for any placement resulting from the receipt of an unsolicited resume.
  • Granite will not pay a fee to any Agency that does not have such agreement in place.
