About the role
- The Dietary Aide works to provide wholesome, appetizing food presented in a pleasing manner in catering, cafeteria and/or patient care.
- In patient care, this position confirms appropriateness of food as ordered and ensures food presented to patients is in accordance with any dietary restrictions and/or modified textures.
- Regularly participates in the kitchen clean-up and dishwashing responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- In addition, this position supports and assists with Gift Shop operations and sales.
Requirements
- California Food Handlers card or ServSafe certification required within 90 days of hire.
Nice to have
- Must be able to read and write in the English language.
- Previous Food Service and cashier experience preferred.
- Knowledge of special diets preferred.
Skills
- Ability to consistently follow instructions for meal orders, nutritional needs and recipes to ensure patients receive appropriate food
- Strong attention to detail
- Exceptional customer service skills required
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.
- Must be able to multi-task in an active and dynamic environment with frequent interruptions
- Must have good organizational skills and ability to effectively prioritize workload
- Skilled with basic mathematical computations and ability to accurately handle money
- Ability to operate basic machinery and must be able to lift 50 pounds, bend and stretch routinely without limitations.
- Physical stamina for constant walking and standing
