About the role

The initial focus of this role will be assessing the current automation landscape, improving API automation reliability and coverage, expanding UI automation, and establishing clear automation health metrics.

Partner with QA, Engineering, Product, and DevOps to align automation efforts with business priorities and release objectives.
Create and maintain strategy documents, architecture diagrams, onboarding guides, and runbooks; lead knowledge transfer to reduce key-person dependency.
Contribute to, maintain, and evolve the framework; design scalable, reusable solutions that support long-term growth.

7+ years of QA Automation experience with a strong hands-on track record.
3+ years leading automation initiatives, frameworks, or automation teams.
Strong hands-on experience with Playwright and TypeScript.
Experience evaluating and improving existing automation frameworks.
Experience designing and maintaining UI, API, and data automation solutions.
Strong understanding of automation architecture, framework design, and test strategy.

Define and own the automation roadmap - establish standards, quality gates, coverage goals, and success metrics across UI, API, and data validation.
Provide accurate, timely reporting on automation coverage, execution health, and release readiness that can be independently validated and relied upon by leadership; communicate risks and remediation plans proactively.
Critically evaluate the existing Playwright framework - assess architecture, coverage, test quality, and reliability - and execute a clear improvement plan.
Build and maintain comprehensive coverage across UI, API, and data validation - including endpoint validation, functional workflow testing, negative testing, and regression.
Own the operational health of the automation program, including execution reliability, failure triage, and remediation planning.
