Responsibilities

  • Since its start as the Google Self-Driving Car Project in 2009, Waymo has focused on building the Waymo Driver-The World's Most Experienced Driver™-to improve access to mobility while saving thousands of lives now lost to traffic crashes.
  • We partner with our public policy, safety, security and privacy experts to define transportation policy for the autonomous driving world to come, advising on regulatory changes that support and protect our users around the world.
  • We collaborate with our engineering, product, strategy and operations teams to develop and protect our intellectual property portfolio and drive our corporate and commercial transactions.
  • Act as a subject matter expert to support cross functional teams that are implementing compliance controls and tooling to support reporting
  • Support ad hoc projects to respond to regulator requests for data

Requirements

  • At least 4 years experience working on an external data reporting program, preferably at a safety-focused, highly-regulated organization
  • Technical aptitude with ability to quickly learn proprietary software
  • Analytical background with the ability to source and analyze data, identify deficiencies or trends, and present facts or trends
  • Proficiency speaking and writing in Japanese, with the ability to prepare technical data reporting and interact with local partners and regulators
  • Experience working with autonomous vehicles, transportation, or ride hailing regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize turning repetitive tasks into scaled, automated workflows
  • Willingness and flexibility to work non-standard hours, as required, to collaborate with teams based in the APAC region

Compensation

  • $137,000 - $169,000 USD
  • The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below.
