About the role

  • PSV (pressure safety valve) sizing and relief calculations.
  • Assist with sizing calculations for Control Valves, Relief Valves, and Orifice Meters with guidance from senior engineers.
  • Redlining and updating control panel drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Strategy Engineering & Consulting, LLC is a leader in providing project management, engineering, drafting/design, procurement, inspection, construction management, technical writing and computerized maintenance management systems for onshore and offshore oil and gas projects.
  • Strategy Engineering is seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer who is responsible for supporting and actively participating in detailed I&C design activities in a variety of off-shore and on-shore projects.
  • As a successful candidate, you will support senior and mid-level engineers in the preparation of engineering deliverables such as Instrument Datasheets, Cable Schedules, Instrument Indexes, and I/O Lists.
  • You will assist in the development of design drawings such as PLC Panel Layout Drawings, Junction Box Layout Drawings, Wiring Diagrams, and Instrument Installation Details, under guidance and supervision.
  • In this position, you will interface with project managers and other disciplines that ensure accuracy and consistency across engineering packages, from the design to the construction phase.

Requirements

  • Assist with Technical Bid Evaluations when required and appropriate for experience level.
  • Required Skills/
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program.
  • 5-10 years of related experience in Instrumentation and Controls (internship or co-op experience acceptable).
  • Ability and willingness to complete Tropical Helicopter Underwater Escape Training as required by project or client needs.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry codes, standards, and engineering practices.
  • Proven ability to communicate well in written and verbal communications.

Nice to have

  • Basic familiarity with control valve and relief valve sizing concepts
  • experience with vendor software is a plus.
  • Exposure to tools such as Fisher Valve Specification Manager, Emerson PRV2Size, or FE-Sizer is preferred but not required.
  • EIT preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with common instrumentation vendors such as Rosemount, Fisher, Kimray, Norriseal, Anderson Greenwood, Wika, Ashcroft, and Enardo is a plus.
