Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory tests on R&D samples and finished products to evaluate and validate their mechanical performance.
- Collaborate with researchers, engineers, developers, designers and other team members to review requests, establish test programs and provide accurate test results and recommendations.
- Responsible for managing the maintenance, repair and calibration of laboratory equipment, as well as developing and recommending new test methodologies and equipment.
Requirements
- Extremely detail-oriented, with the ability to read, understand, and follow test protocols and procedures.
- Knowledge of ISO, ASTM, or CSA standards, an asset.
- Experience in laboratory equipment calibration, an asset.
- Must be able to lift and/or push 20 to 45 lbs of test equipment or samples.
- Experience working in a mechanical testing laboratory.
- Knowledge of Composite materials, an asset.
- Possess a College Diploma (DEC), College Certificate (AEC) in Sciences, or equivalent experience.
- French & English written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel.
- Machining, CNC or manual, an asset.
- CAD drawing, an asset.
- Excellent technical writing and analytical skills.

- Reporting to the Laboratory Performance Manager, the Laboratory Technician will be responsible for testing and evaluating raw materials and finished products in order to continuously improve product quality and performance.
