About the role

  • Nicewood Enterprises, our architectural millwork division, takes that standard into a specialized world where precision fabrication meets exacting client expectations.
  • This is not a theoretical project management role.
  • You will be on the floor, in the drawings, on the phone with architects and contractors, and at the dock when product ships.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with our CAD engineers to oversee shop drawing production, review and maintain updated drawing sets, and ensure all documents reflect current client specifications.
  • Develop project schedules in coordination with the Production Manager, identify long-lead procurement items early, and monitor milestones to keep every project on track.
  • Build and manage detailed project budgets, including material costs, labor estimates, and vendor pricing. Track expenditures and flag variances before they become problems.
  • Conduct site visits to capture field dimensions, validate architectural plans, and confirm specifications directly with architects and contractors.
  • Perform regular shop floor walkthroughs to verify fabrication quality and confirm work in progress matches scope and drawings.
  • Manage change orders, scope adjustments, and client-initiated revisions with clear documentation and stakeholder communication throughout.
  • The ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, shop drawings, and engineering documents. You do not need to be a drafter, but you need to be fluent in the language of technical drawings.
  • Build and manage detailed project budgets, including material costs, labor estimates, and vendor pricing.
  • A Project Assistant, shop coordinator, or production coordinator who has been managing the details of complex projects and is ready to own the full PM role formally.
  • You will own your work.

Requirements

  • Project coordination or management experience in architectural millwork, custom fabrication, commercial construction, or a closely related field.
  • You have managed timelines, tracked milestones, and made the calls needed to keep a project moving when things shift.
  • Technical proficiency with AutoCAD or similar design software, and comfort working in project management and office productivity tools.
  • You Might Be a Great Fit If You Are:

Compensation

  • Competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package.
