About the role
- An active approach to Resident care will be taken and not just passive maintenance.
- RAs will be deeply involved in resident activities and programming and must understand and have a desire to continue to grow in dementia-specific caregiving.
- Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assists the residents in any daily routines, any personal care, and housekeeping tasks that the resident needs assistance in performing.
Responsibilities
- Provides daily routine nursing care and services that support the care delivered to residents, particularly those living with dementia, in accordance with the established nursing care procedures and as directed by the supervisor.
- Provides services that support the care delivered to the resident, and review care plans daily to determine if changes in the daily care routine have been made.
Requirements
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Language Ability: Possess the ability to deal tactfully with team members, residents, and family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public.
- Must possess the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, team members, and outside contacts.
- Cognitive Demands: Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
- Must be caring and compassionate in dealing with the residents as well as team members.
- Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset and, at times, hostile people within the community.
- Possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices.
- I understand that I may be required to work overtime, different shifts or hours outside the normally defined workday or workweek.

- Certifications, Licenses and other Special Requirements: CPR certified and first aid training preferred.
