About the role

  • Crossroads Talent Solutions is seeking an experienced Paralegal II to support the United States Attorney's Office (USAO), Middle District of Georgia, within the Civil and/or Criminal Division.
  • This position provides advanced litigation support to Assistant United States Attorneys (AUSAs) by assisting with legal research, case preparation, drafting legal documents, discovery management, trial preparation, and court filing activities.
  • The ideal candidate will possess strong litigation experience, exceptional legal writing skills, and the ability to manage multiple complex legal matters simultaneously while maintaining strict confidentiality and meeting demanding deadlines in a high-volume federal legal environment.

Responsibilities

  • Litigation Support Draft pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, exhibits, and other legal documents for review by Assistant United States Attorneys.
  • Evaluate document productions for completeness and relevance.
  • Organize documentary evidence and maintain litigation files.
  • Expert Witness Support Assist with identifying and researching expert witnesses.

  • Maintain organized legal files and electronic case records.
  • Additional Duties Support attorneys in both civil and criminal litigation matters.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive law enforcement and government information.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Paralegal Studies or a two-year degree with an additional Paralegal Certificate.
  • Working knowledge of civil and/or criminal litigation procedures.
  • Experience using Westlaw and LexisNexis.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the required DOJ Tier 4 Public Trust background investigation.
  • Occasional travel throughout the Middle District of Georgia and periodic travel for DOJ-related training may be required.

Nice to have

  • Experience supporting federal litigation.
  • Knowledge of federal court filing procedures.
  • Experience preparing pleadings, motions, and legal correspondence.
  • Familiarity with PACER and electronic court filing systems.
  • Ability to work independently in a deadline-driven legal environment.
  • Excellent judgment and discretion when handling sensitive information.
  • Experience supporting Assistant United States Attorneys or other government legal organizations.
