About the role

  • Sony Pictures Imageworks is located on the unceded traditional territory of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations.
  • Translates storyboards, sketches and verbal instructions into 3D sequence of shots.
  • Determines camera composition, angles and movement.

Responsibilities

  • Creates basic blocking for all characters, props, along with temp elements such as lighting, crowds and effects.
  • May create rough pre-visualization models, environments and effects to facilitate animation.
  • Candidates should be able to work efficiently as part of a team or independently to determine the various design solutions.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of applicable software packages including Unreal Engine 5.x is desired, with Maya knowledge required.
  • Strong knowledge of camera composition, lenses and cinematographic principles is essential.
  • Ability to solve problems within a production pipeline.
  • Most desired 2 year diploma or 1 year certificate however minimal requirement of 2-3 years of relevant experience may be accepted.
  • Please note that you must be able to provide a demo reel that illustrates your relevant artistic and technical experience that also includes the nuances for this specific role.
  • Able to create layout solutions for multiple types of stories and actions. Knowledge of applicable software packages including Unreal Engine 5.x is desired, with Maya knowledge required. Experience with motion capture and virtual camera technologies is a plus. Strong knowledge of camera composition, lenses and cinematographic principles is essential. High attention to detail and good organization skills. Ability to solve problems within a production pipeline. Most desired 2 year diploma or 1 year certificate however minimal requirement of 2-3 years of relevant experience may be accepted.
  • The anticipated base salary for an Associate position is $25.00 to $34.38/hr and for an Intermediate position is $33.85 to $44.42/hr. Benefits are per company policy: which include healthcare, tuition reimbursement, RRSP's, Sick and Vacation leave, standard increases as applicable. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.

Compensation
