About the role
- Position Title: Financial Specialist III Job Category: Academic Staff Employment Type: Regular Job Profile: Financial Specialist III Job Duties: L ocated in the Dean's Office at the Sheldon B.
- This position will work closely with the College's Accountant, campus Accounting Services staff, Purchasing Services staff, Human Resources staff, UWM Foundation staff, other campus service units and suppliers.
- The selected finalist can chose between a.5 -.8 schedule, 20 - 32 weekly hours.
Responsibilities
- Drafts communications and reports and maintains organization of varied records to provide administrative support within a specified work unit
- Support procurement and travel processes.
- Lubar College of Business at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, the Financial Specialist III, r eporting to the Divisional Finance Officer, provides administrative support for financial processes and reporting.
- May be a lead or resource for others in the unit.
Requirements
- Associate degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 2 years of accounting, finance, or business administration experience.
- UWM will not, however, reveal the identities of applicants who request confidentiality in writing except as may be required by Wisconsin's Open Records law.
- In certain circumstances, the identities of "final candidates" and/or the identity of the appointed applicant must be revealed upon request.

Nice to have
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Experience with university procurement and travel systems.
- A bility to multitask and transition quickly between priorities to address specific situations.
- Knowledge and experience with gift funds.
- Knowledge and experience of Workday or other financial and administrative software and systems.
- Experience advising or training staff on financial systems.
Compensation
- $30,000 to $48,000 based on a part-time FTE (.5 -.8).
