About the role
- Managing the day-to-day activities in the laboratory (coordinating the activities of a lab with up to 12 members).
- Training other laboratorians on protocols, using instrumentation, and mentoring trainees in the BSL3.
- Managing other technicians and trainees in the lab when the supervisor is not available.
Requirements
- Successful applicants must be able to meet federal Select Agent requirements and be able to work independently within BSL3/ABSL3 facilities.

Nice to have
- Master's degree in Microbiology, Cell Biology, Immunology or related field
- 2 years of experience working with Yersinia pestis
- experience with in vitro, cell culture, and animal models used to study Y. pestis pathogenesis.
- 2 years working with rodent models of infection
- Documented experience working in BSL3 and ABSL3 containment, including working with in vitro, cell culture, and animal models of bacterial infections
- Current DOJ and CDC approval to work with Select Agents
- Experience working with the Workday procurement and reconciliation system
- Experience with Workday ordering and reconciliation.
