About the role

  • Job Duties: Conduct driver license examinations, including automobile, motorcycle, and CDL knowledge, skills, and road tests; evaluate applicant performance and determine eligibility.

Requirements

  • Experience working with the public in a customer service capacity or working with motor vehicle laws.
  • Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: The Motor Vehicle Examiner position requires basic knowledge of customer service principles and practices, as well as familiarity with computer systems and office software.

Nice to have

  • include experience providing customer service in a public-facing environment
  • experience handling cash transactions and maintaining accurate records
  • familiarity with state motor vehicle laws, licensing procedures, or regulatory requirements
  • proficiency with computer systems and data entry
  • experience working in a fast-paced office environment
  • bilingual communication skills
  • A clean driving record and experience operating a variety of motor vehicles are also preferred.
  • Successful applicants will be required to complete agency-provided training, including Driver License Examiner certification, fraud detection training, and defensive driving coursework.
