About the role

  • Purpose Responsible for inspecting and monitoring parts to ensure good quality parts are produced.
  • The department is structured as a formal team and requires the ability to work within the team.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required with completion of established curriculum and/or demonstrated understanding of skills.
  • Two - Four years of experience
  • Ability to follow established procedures Strong attention to detail Knowledge Statistical Process Control (SPC)
  • Must be able to operate basic metrology instruments, optical comparator, hardness tester and Coordinate Measurement Machine.
  • Required Education & Experience

  • Competencies
  • GD&T with application and blueprint reading. Must be able to operate basic metrology instruments, optical comparator, hardness tester and Coordinate Measurement Machine. Calibration of equipment gages. Knowledge of welding specifications Problem Solving Perform sorts, audits or rework products Knowledge of product and processes Knowledge of Quality standards - AIAG/ASQC, ASME, AITF16949 Communication skills to communicate and interact with all levels of employees, customers and suppliers Computer skills and math skills sufficient to perform department related tasks as required Ability to work effectively with people
  • Licensure
  • Valid driver's license
  • Supervisory Responsibility
  • This position leads a group of quality inspectors and/or rework activities and is responsible for the performance management within that group.
  • Work Environment
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a manufacturing environment.
