Responsibilities
- Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, install, and commission electrical equipment such as PLCs, instrumentation, motor control centers, motors, switchgear, VFDs, MOVs, HVACs, and other electrical equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Provide electrical support and maintenance to ensure system reliability.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance for all electrical and instrumentation equipment.
- Provide on‑call support during non‑business hours for emergency response and maintenance break‑ins.
- We own an extensive network of pipeline transportation, terminalling, storage and gathering assets in key oil producing basins and transportation corridors and at major market hubs in the United States and Canada.
- Plains is looking for a skilled and motivated Electrical / Instrumentation Technician to support our Slave Lake, Alberta and area facilities.
Requirements
- Certified Interprovincial Electrical Journeyperson or dual‑ticketed as an Instrumentation and Control Technician 5-10 years' prior gas plant, refinery, pipeline, or oilfield experience PLC experience considered a strong asset Basic computer skills with knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (Maximo preferred), MS Word / Excel, and Outlook Strong troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and optimization skills Self‑motivated and energetic with effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to work with a variety of individuals in a busy field environment Strong focus on safety and accountability for safety performance Valid driver's license with a clean abstract Cleared criminal history (background) and satisfactory reference checks Compliance with the Company's drug and alcohol policy including pre‑employment D&A testing #Plains At Plains, our employees are our most valuable asset.
