Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support for IBM MQ as a Service
  • Support web, application server, messaging, and integration middleware platforms
  • Perform middleware maintenance, patching, upgrades, and operational support
  • Partner with Enterprise Architecture to support solution design and production readiness
  • Support remediation and lifecycle management of end-of-life (EOL) middleware platforms
  • Manage middleware vulnerabilities and support IT risk exception processes
  • Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures
  • The Staff Engineer II - Middleware Platforms is responsible for the engineering, support, and maintenance of enterprise middleware technologies supporting business-critical applications.
  • This role provides hands-on support for IBM MQ as a Service, manages end-of-life (EOL) middleware platforms, and supports a diverse portfolio including Tomcat, Apache HTTPD, NGINX, ActiveMQ, IIS,.NET middleware, and Azure Service Bus.
  • The role partners with Enterprise Architecture, Information Security, Application Development, and Operations teams to ensure middleware platforms are secure, stable, compliant, and production-ready..

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 5-8+ years of middleware or platform engineering experience
  • Hands-on experience with IBM MQ
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise middleware technologies, including Tomca t
  • Experience supporting production systems, preferably in regulated environments
  • Experience in financial services or other regulated industries
  • Experience supporting modernization or platform transformation initiatives
