About the role

  • At BILL, we are looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Financial Analyst to join our Product Finance team.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and automate recurring reporting and analysis, improving accuracy and turnaround time.

Responsibilities

  • Business Partnering: Serve as a proactive financial partner to product managers and product leaders, translating financial data and analysis into clear insights that inform day-to-day and strategic decisions.
  • Product KPIs & Reporting: Build, maintain, and continuously improve reporting on key product KPIs (e.g., adoption, retention, monetization, unit economics), incorporating leading indicators to flag emerging risks or opportunities early.
  • Financial Modeling & Business Cases: Build and maintain financial models to support business cases for new product launches, feature investments, and pricing initiatives.
  • This is an excellent opportunity to develop deep product finance expertise while directly contributing to product strategy, performance tracking, and resource allocation decisions.
  • Build, maintain, and continuously improve reporting on key product KPIs (e.g., adoption, retention, monetization, unit economics), incorporating leading indicators to flag emerging risks or opportunities early.
  • Build and maintain financial models to support business cases for new product launches, feature investments, and pricing initiatives.

Requirements

  • Analytical Mindset: Strong quantitative and problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure ambiguous problems into clear analytical frameworks.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to clearly communicate financial concepts and analysis to non-finance stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of progressive experience in FP&A, strategic finance, corporate finance, investment banking, equity research, or a related analytical role.
  • Financial Modeling: Strong financial modeling skills using Excel/Google Sheets, with the ability to build and maintain moderately complex models with guidance from senior team members.
  • Software/Payments Experience (Preferred): Experience at a software or payments company is a plus. Experience with credit and/or fraud loss modeling is particularly valued.
  • Team Player: Collaborative, detail-oriented, and proactive, with a "no task is too small" mindset and a track record of building trust across teams.
  • Ownership Mindset: Self-motivated and organized, with a strong sense of ownership over multiple deliverables and priorities, operating effectively with general guidance from senior team members.
  • Our ranges for each role and job level are based on a variety of factors including candidate experience, expertise, and geographic location and may vary from the amounts listed below.   • $94,300 - $117,900 USD
  • Zone 3: Utah (includes Utah office), Dallas TX, Houston TX, Florida, North Carolina, Illinois, Colorado, Arizona, Georgia, Oregon, Pennsylvania

Compensation

  • Annual Planning: Support annual planning for the product organization, including budget tracking, variance analysis, and headcount planning.
  • You will support the annual planning process, build and maintain product KPI reporting, and partner closely with senior Product Finance team members to develop business cases for new features and strategic initiatives.
