About the role

  • Cleveland-Cliffs is seeking a Project Engineer within our Engineering Department at our East Chicago, Indiana facility. As a Project Engineer at Indiana Harbor, you will be responsible for developing and implementing Capital projects from inception, design engineering, procurement, construction and start-up in all areas of the facility.
  • - Lead multiple capital projects, maintenance projects and/or facility rehabilitations on schedule and within budget by preparing capitol appropriations requests, establishing and reviewing schedule, and reviewing and approving design drawings

Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple capital projects, maintenance projects and/or facility rehabilitations on schedule and within budget by preparing capitol appropriations requests, establishing and reviewing schedule, and reviewing and approving design drawings
  • Develop technical specifications for procurement of major equipment and materials from various suppliers, and for competitive bidding of construction packages by qualified contractors
  • As a Project Engineer at Indiana Harbor, you will be responsible for developing and implementing Capital projects from inception, design engineering, procurement, construction and start-up in all areas of the facility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Structural or Civil Engineering
  • Three (3) years of technical related engineering experience in a heavy manufacturing environment
  • Experience with AutoCAD

Nice to have

  • Experience in development and implementation of Major Capital Projects in the steel industry
  • Experience with production facilities and equipment design, troubleshooting and problem resolution, operations and maintenance requirements in heavy industry
