About the role

  • Reporting directly to the Director of Care, the Health Care Aide (HCA) is a regulated member of the interprofessional health care team who provides ongoing client care.
  • The HCA observes, monitors and reports on client status/condition including changes in physical and emotional status.
  • The HCA ensures that changes in client status are reported to the Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

Responsibilities

  • Complex Care - for frail seniors who require the care of an interdisciplinary team to maintain and improve quality of life in safe, comfortable and supportive environments.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English is required.
  • Must be physically capable of managing the frequent lifting, transferring and repositioning of clients.
  • Active and current registration with CLHA required.
  • Responsible for other related duties as required.
  • Employees are required to use technologies, devices, resources, and systems provided by the employer, as per Carewest policy and procedure.
  • Adherence to relevant privacy legislation and best practice including HIA, ATIA, POPA, and InfoCare Behaviours, is required.
