About the role
- The Content Producer works with the Executive Producer, CTV Host, reporters, photographers, and other newsroom staff to produce, write, edit, and distribute content across broadcast, digital, and streaming platforms.
- Responsibilities include live streaming production, news gathering, video editing, and coordination of daily coverage.
Responsibilities
- Maintains daily event schedules and monitors news developments and political calendars
- Develops enterprise story ideas and pitches content relevant to local audiences
- Collaborates with bureau staff and Nexstar partners, including NewsNation and The Hill
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- 2-5 years of experience in political, government, or broadcast/digital news
- Prior experience in news producing required
- Proficiency with non-linear editing systems and digital news gathering tools (e.g., OBS, vMix, CMS platforms)
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple assignments
Nice to have
- Produces and executes live and recorded streaming content, including daily programs
- Routes live feeds, ingests video, and distributes content to Nexstar stations
- Monitors and edits news events, press conferences, and interviews for broadcast and digital use
- Writes and edits scripts for broadcast, digital, and CTV platforms with attention to accuracy and clarity
- Edits video for vo/sots, packages, and long-form content
- Researches and analyzes information to ensure complete and accurate reporting
- Coordinates and conducts interviews with lawmakers, analysts, and other newsmakers
- Assists with guest booking and segment production for live and taped programming

Compensation
- $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 based upon experience
