About the role

  • The Content Producer works with the Executive Producer, CTV Host, reporters, photographers, and other newsroom staff to produce, write, edit, and distribute content across broadcast, digital, and streaming platforms.
  • Responsibilities include live streaming production, news gathering, video editing, and coordination of daily coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains daily event schedules and monitors news developments and political calendars
  • Develops enterprise story ideas and pitches content relevant to local audiences
  • Collaborates with bureau staff and Nexstar partners, including NewsNation and The Hill

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 2-5 years of experience in political, government, or broadcast/digital news
  • Prior experience in news producing required
  • Proficiency with non-linear editing systems and digital news gathering tools (e.g., OBS, vMix, CMS platforms)
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple assignments

Nice to have

  • Produces and executes live and recorded streaming content, including daily programs
  • Routes live feeds, ingests video, and distributes content to Nexstar stations
  • Monitors and edits news events, press conferences, and interviews for broadcast and digital use
  • Writes and edits scripts for broadcast, digital, and CTV platforms with attention to accuracy and clarity
  • Edits video for vo/sots, packages, and long-form content
  • Researches and analyzes information to ensure complete and accurate reporting
  • Coordinates and conducts interviews with lawmakers, analysts, and other newsmakers
  • Assists with guest booking and segment production for live and taped programming

Compensation

  • $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 based upon experience
