About the role
- Initial assignment is in Council Hill, OK.
- The Field Engineer will assist in the supervision of field work performed by Weitz and/or our subcontractors.
- This is a great opportunity for someone who is interested in becoming a Superintendent in the future.
Responsibilities
- Make recommendations to the supervisor for design or other changes that will enhance the quality of the project, reduce operating and maintain costs, improve the scheduled completion, and/or decrease construction costs
- Maintain and protect all tools, equipment, and materials on the jobsite
- Maintain accurate cost reporting and respond to RFI's
- Assist the Superintendent, as needed, in developing, updating, and maintaining the project schedule
- Document all delays and inform Superintendent
- Maintain routine relations with owners' and architects' representatives. Major disputes or problems encountered are discussed with appropriate Supervisor

Requirements
- The Company is a drug and alcohol-free workplace and background checks are required if applicable.
Nice to have
- 1-2 years of experience as a Project Engineer, other construction-related role, or related internship experience
- Industry related degree or coursework is a plus

- Ability to read and interpret construction documents
- Knowledge of construction methods and materials
- High level of initiative and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- Flexibility to balance competing needs
- Ability to build positive relationships across the organization
- Proficient in basic computer software including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to learn specific job-related software upon hire
