About the role

Position structure will be tailored to the candidate's experience and interests and may include a clinician-educator focus and participation in outcomes-driven clinical research and scholarly activity.
The clinical position will be structured as an independent veterinary dermatology service that reports directly to the Chief Medical Officer.

Partner with colleagues across specialties (e.g., internal medicine, surgery, oncology, emergency/critical care, diagnostic imaging) to coordinate complex case care.
Develop and/or participate in clinical research projects, case series, and quality improvement initiatives
Develop and/or participate in clinical research projects, case series, and quality improvement initiatives; disseminate findings through presentations and peer-reviewed publication.
Contribute to resident and intern scholarly work (e.g., mentorship on study design, abstracts, manuscripts).
Support an inclusive workplace that reflects the diversity of AMC's staff, clients, and community.
Demonstrated interest and experience in program/service development and building referral relationships.

Track record of clinical scholarship (e.g., publications, presentations, clinical trials, outcomes research) and/or an advanced degree or equivalent research experience.

Provide clinical teaching to rotating interns, residents, and other trainees within the Dermatology and Otology Service, integrated with case management and client communication.
Mentor house officers in clinical reasoning, procedural skills (including otic diagnostics/therapeutics), professionalism, and effective communication.
Provide outstanding client service in a high-acuity referral setting, including timely updates, shared decision-making, and clear written instructions.
Communicate effectively with referring veterinarians through consult reports, direct outreach, and collegial collaboration.
disseminate findings through presentations and peer-reviewed publication.
Participate in committee work, service development, and hospital initiatives as assigned.
Adhere to AMC policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory and professional standards.
DVM or equivalent degree.
