About the role

  • AccuWeather is seeking an experienced HR Manager, Employee Relations & Compliance, to join its growing Human Resources team.
  • You will play a central role in cultivating a positive, compliant, and high-performing workplace by combining data-driven insights with thoughtful people practices.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with department and division leaders to provide proactive guidance on employee relations, performance management, policy interpretation, and workforce strategy.
  • Serve as a credible, accessible HR advisor who builds trusted relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Lead workplace investigations, address employee concerns, and facilitate disciplinary action processes in close collaboration with management.
  • Coordinate onboarding activities for new hires and manage offboarding processes, including involuntary separations and voluntary exit interviews.
  • Support employee events and culture initiatives that foster connection, belonging, and organizational pride.
  • Leverage AI tools and HR technology to enhance workflow efficiency, automate routine processes, and support data-driven decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • 5-8+ years of progressive HR generalist experience with a strong emphasis on employee relations, compliance, and performance management.
  • Thorough working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including FMLA, ADA, EEO, and wage and hour requirements.
  • Experience administering HRIS and performance management systems.
  • High degree of professionalism, discretion, and integrity when handling confidential information.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with AI tools and platforms - including the ability to leverage AI to enhance productivity, streamline HR workflows, and inform data-driven decisions.
  • Manage all required compliance reporting and HR programs, including OSHA 300, Affirmative Action Plans (AAP), VETS-4212, EEO-1, California Pay Data Reporting, DOL wage surveys, and I-9/E-Verify administration.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting workplace investigations and managing complex employee relations matters.
  • Exceptional facilitation, coaching, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with experience compiling and interpreting HR metrics and reports to drive program improvements.

Nice to have

  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
  • Experience administering and optimizing HR technology stacks including ADP, Greenhouse, Ultimate Software, Navex Compliance Portal.
  • Demonstrated experience applying AI tools within an HR function.
  • Experience supporting multi-state employee populations.
  • Background in government compliance reporting and affirmative action planning.
  • Prior experience in a fast-paced technology, media, or service-oriented environment.

Skills

  • Expert employee relations and conflict resolution skills with sound, balanced judgment.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to translate complex policies into clear guidance.
  • Advanced problem-solving and critical-thinking capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Detail-oriented approach to reporting and compliance, with a consistent record of accuracy.
  • Ability to influence outcomes through thoughtful collaboration and sound judgment.
  • Deep commitment to delivering a positive employee experience and fostering an inclusive, equitable workplace.
  • Working knowledge of AI tools applied within HR contexts.

Compensation

  • Manage the annual performance review cycle and serve as system administrator and project manager for the Company's performance management platform.
  • Champion employee recognition and engagement by overseeing programs such as annual performance excellence awards, years-of-service recognition, spot awards, and Team Member of the Quarter.
