Responsibilities
- Develop tools and automated workflows to sift through large datasets and identify information relevant for modeling and intelligence efforts
- Apply all-source intelligence tradecraft and technical analysis to create system models from circuit diagrams, schematics, source code, signal processing algorithms, and reverse-engineered components
- Leverage intelligence databases and analytic tools to support technical collection and threat modeling
- Create custom query logic and scripts to extract, correlate, and analyze data across multiple databases and intelligence repositories
- Work in multi-disciplinary teams to tackle challenging problems from a wide variety of technologies to develop innovative cybersecurity solutions
- Document, demonstrate, and present research findings to technical and non-technical audiences
Requirements
- BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field (or equivalent work experience) with a minimum of 8 years relevant experience
- Intelligence community experience with demonstrated proficiency in:
- Experience with data analysis and automation: pandas, SQL queries, scripting for data extraction
- Proficiency with modeling tools: SPICE, MATLAB, or similar
Nice to have
- SIGINT, COMINT, or Cryptologic experience (military or civilian)
- Experience with network analysis and communications systems: Wireshark, protocol analysis, satellite communications
- Reverse engineering experience: Ghidra, IDA Pro, firmware analysis, malware analysis
- Knowledge of disassembly/decompilation: Analyzing protocols, message structures, binary file formats
- Foreign language skills (especially Chinese, Russian, Arabic, Farsi, or other priority languages)
- DLPT scores in mission-relevant languages
- Capture the Flag (CTF) experience: HTB, VulnHub, picoCTF, penetration testing
- Knowledge of digital twin development and cyber-physical system modeling
Skills
- Willing to travel frequently from an STR office to the customer location in MD, or spend the majority of time at customer location
- Bridge the gap between intelligence operations and technical engineering
- Thrive in mission-focused, fast-paced environments
- Have a track record of innovation within intelligence tradecraft
- Understand both the "why" (intelligence requirements) and the "how" (technical implementation)
Compensation
- The salary range listed is based on external market data.
- $173,000 - $230,000
