About the role
- It operates across four core markets: political news and opinion, business news and personal finance, golf, and sports and genre entertainment.
- This role is not a traditional software engineering management track; instead, it is engineered for leaders with deep experience in end user compute, workspace services, and enterprise workplace tooling.
- This role is aimed at seasoned workplace engineering leaders who understand enterprise device ecosystems, large-scale endpoint governance, and multi-tool platforms - not purely software development or application delivery teams.
Responsibilities
- VERSANT (Nasdaq: VSNT) is an industry-changing media and entertainment business and home to trusted brands that shape culture, inform audiences, and build lasting connections.
- You will lead a multi-disciplinary engineering organization responsible for architecting standards, defining platform direction, and driving security-by-design practices across the end user compute stack.
- A core expectation is to embed security by design across endpoint platforms, identity, device posture, data protection, observability, and compliance, working closely with the Cyber Security organization.
- You will also partner with Workplace Product & Operations to ensure platform architectural alignment with strategic business requirements, service quality, and user experience expectations.
Requirements
- Extensive experience leading large end user compute or workplace engineering functions, with responsibility for defining architectural strategy, platform standards, and enforcement practices
- Established experience with VDI and virtual workspace solutions, including:
- Experience governing and supporting enterprise storage and collaboration platforms, including:
- Proven track record with endpoint management and governance platforms, such as:
- Expertise supporting and harmonizing services across Windows, macOS, and Linux endpoint environments
- Experience managing mobile device management environments (standardized on iOS/iPadOS)
- Experience leading or overseeing Physical Security Engineering functions (badging/access control and security camera systems)
- Strong cross-functional collaboration experience with Cyber Security and Workplace Product & Operations
- Ability to translate business, security, and operational requirements into scalable architectural frameworks and enforce platform standards
- Experience guiding large workplace engineering organizations through platform evolution and tool rationalization
