Responsibilities
- Techno is seeking an experienced Resident Engineer to support a transportation infrastructure rehabilitation project in New Jersey.
- Lead construction progress meetings and facilitate communication among project participants.
- Review and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, shop drawings, and contractor documentation.
- Verify installed work, document deficiencies, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Maintain comprehensive project records, including meeting minutes, correspondence, progress reports, and project documentation.
- Support project closeout activities, including punch list management, final inspections, and turnover documentation.
- We deliver impactful water/wastewater, transportation, and public works projects for clients including NYCDDC, NYCDEP, and the Port Authority of NY & NJ.

Requirements
- 10+ years of experience managing transportation, bridge, or heavy civil construction projects.
- Prior NJ TRANSIT experience is required.
- Strong knowledge of bridge rehabilitation construction methods, construction administration, and field operations.
- Experience reviewing and processing RFIs, submittals, change orders, shop drawings, and contractor documentation.
- Strong understanding of construction safety requirements within active transportation environments.
- Ability to work both in the field and in an office environment as project needs dictate.

- Demonstrated ability to manage contractors, consultants, and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Excellent organizational, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Nice to have
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- experience with construction management software is preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in New Jersey is preferred.
Compensation
- The anticipated compensation range for this position is between $70-$90/hr. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, education, certifications, skills, and work location.
