  • Sompo has a unique opportunity for an Assistant Vice President in our U.S. Environmental Insurance team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and/or oversee risk analysis (exposure, aggregation, scenario testing, and profitability) using internal models and market data.
  • Support internal and external audits; identify control gaps and drive remediation actions where needed.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with required forms and coverages.
  • Very strong analytical, oral and written communication skills required.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws associated with US Environmental underwriting coverages.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Demonstrates an understanding and ability to effectively engage in the negotiation process.
  • Adept at risk selection, exposure evaluation and ability to rate, quote, and sell admitted and non-admitted solutions.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines is essential.
  • Ability to interact and communicate with various levels of the organization to cross-sell or address processing requirements.

Skills

  • Utilize underwriting standards, practices, and tools to determine accurate classifications, rates, and premium charges.
  • Excellent organizational skills.

Compensation

  • $140,000.00 - 185,000.00 Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including the cost of living associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience.

  • The total compensation opportunity for all regular, full-time employees is a combination of base salary and incentives that gets adjusted upfront based on overall Company performance with final awards based on individual performance.
