Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Ability to work outdoors exposed to various weather conditions, potential allergens, elevated noise levels, and heat.
- Ability to operate industrial equipment (i.e., forklift, trucks, trailers, small vessels).
- Experience with printed circuit board (PCB) assembly and inspection.
- Experience using a multimeter for circuit troubleshooting or debugging printed circuit boards.
- Knowledge of operation and basic practices of oceanographic equipment, instrumentation, and sensors.
- Knowledge of standard laboratory and industrial safety procedures.
- Familiarity with interpreting, reading, and troubleshooting from schematics (analog and digital circuits).
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
- Applicants are subject to a criminal history investigation, and employment is contingent upon the institution's verification of credentials and/or other information required by the institution's procedures, including the completion of the criminal history check.
- Five years of related experience.
- Able to lift, move, push, and/or pull moderate weighted objects.
- A well-qualified candidate for this position will also possess:
- Understanding of principals of environmental field work.
- Fundamental understanding of electronics, including identifying components (resistors, capacitors, transistors).
Compensation
- Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected candidate's education and experience.
- 12-15 days of annual paid holidays
