About the role
- Redwood Materials is currently seeking a Senior Construction Project Manager to join our Engineering, Procurement, & Construction (EPC) team.
- These EPC roles are at the center of our activities focused on creating a sustainable circular economy for lithium-ion batteries by transforming recycled materials into battery materials and implementing second life BESS systems.
- This is a senior-level role with greater autonomy over larger, more complex scopes of work, and includes mentorship and technical oversight of junior Project Engineers.
Responsibilities
- Leads daily meetings with project subcontractors/crews to review production schedule and confirm all materials, equipment and resources are readily available for production to continue on schedule and within budget; escalates and resolves complex, cross-scope conflicts.
- Leads development of the project work plan and scheduling strategy. Proactively identifies and mitigates risk elements of production, materials, equipment or process that could negatively impact the budget or schedule, and drives corrective action plans.
- Evaluates daily production, schedule and budget projections to accurately track project performance. Documents daily activities in Company approved methods and technologies.
- Provides mentorship, training and day-to-day technical guidance to Project Engineers and other junior staff; reviews their work product and supports their professional development.

- Manages cost coding with Company finance and accounting teams regarding employee time, materials, equipment and subcontractor needs.
- Initiates and manages appropriate certificates, inspections and other documentation regarding construction production on the project site.
- The Senior Project Engineer will manage multiple, concurrent, and/or higher-complexity scopes of construction, and provides technical guidance, mentorship, and day-to-day oversight to Project Engineers and less experienced staff.
- Collects, coordinates and analyzes shop drawings, design specifications, material requirements and project data through the duration of the project to ensure quality and contract specification compliance.
Compensation

Company info
- About Redwood Materials
- Redwood Materials was founded in 2017 by
- JB Straubel, co-founder and former CTO of Tesla, on a simple but radical idea:
- the critical minerals powering the energy transition already exist.
- They just need to come back.
- Today Redwood is the largest lithium-ion battery recycler in North America - recovering, refining, and redeploying critical minerals from end-of-life batteries back into the supply chain.
- On the energy side, Redwood has deployed the largest second-life battery project in the world, delivering power to AI data centers in months rather than years using proprietary energy architecture engineered entirely in-house.
- The company is profitable, the market it operates in is projected to grow 20 to 50 times over the next decade, and Redwood is the only company with the supply chain, the technology, and the operational scale to lead it.
- Reviews and approves daily timecards for all Company construction crews. Works with Office Manager, payroll and job construction supervisors to resolve timecard inquiries, as needed.
