About the role

  • The Expeditor, reporting to the Manager of Procurement, is responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of purchased materials, equipment, services, and engineering deliverables for assigned tasks.
  • The Expeditor will evaluate supplier performance and assist with annual supplier evaluations.
  • Communicate supplier status to Project Managers and Core Project Team for all assigned VPI Project tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Additionally, this role provides administrative support to the Supply Management Department, contributing to the achievement of the department's strategic objectives.
  • Manage supplier schedules and progress reporting of material procurement, fabrication, assembly and test, shipping preparation and shipment.
  • Vogt is based in Louisville, KY and specializes in the design, manufacture and supply of equipment and solutions to the power generation industry.
  • Process project document expediting reports in DCAP.

Requirements

  • Manage and monitor supplier document submittals, both initial and return submittals, of drawings, processes, procedures and other required documentation.
  • Communicate with responsible Buyer/SCM/Procurement Specialist regarding late contractually required deliveries in order to pursue back-charges or liquidated damages, if applicable, with supplier.

Nice to have

  • Degree in Supply Chain Management or related field, preferred.
  • 2-5 years of engineered equipment purchasing experience preferred.

Skills

  • Computer skills in the use of EXCEL, WORD and other packaged software.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

Compensation

  • The Expeditor will evaluate supplier performance and assist with annual supplier evaluations.
