About the role
- THIS IS A GRANT FUNDED POSITION ENDING AUGUST 2028.

Responsibilities
- In this role you will support community-wide efforts to address fatal and non-fatal overdoses and strengthen local responses to substance use disorders.
- The Substance Use Strategist will collaborate with stakeholders throughout Pima County to identify gaps in services, inform shared strategies, and strengthen systems that connect individuals and families to needed resources.
- In this role, the successful candidate will build and maintain partnerships across sectors, assist with opioid settlement reporting requirements, and prepare data-informed recommendations that support evidence-based interventions and policy development.
- Collaborates with Senior Leadership to align programs with organization goals and priorities;
- Identifies and secures grant funding to support program sustainability and expansion;
- Collaborates with partners to leverage resources, expertise, and funding opportunities;
- Engages with the community to gather input, assess needs, and gain support for program initiatives.
Requirements
- Valid driver license is required at time of application.
- Valid AZ driver license is required at time of appointment.
- Failure to obtain and maintain the required licenses and certifications shall be grounds for termination.

- Minimum three (3) years of experience convening and facilitating multi-sector stakeholder groups, coalitions, advisory committees, or community collaboratives to develop shared priorities, strategies, and action plans.
- Experience managing, monitoring, administering, or reporting on public funding sources, grants, settlement funds, or government-funded initiatives, including performance measurement and outcome reporting.

- Candidates meeting the minimum qualifications may be further evaluated/scored against any advertised Preferred Qualifications.
- The hiring authority will interview and select the successful candidate from a referral list provided by Human Resources.
Compensation
- $72,009 - $100,817 Annually
- Hiring Range is an estimate of where you can receive an offer. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, training, and internal equity.
- Pay Range is the entire compensation range for the position.
- Hiring Range: $72,009 - $86,403 Annually
