About the role
- Receive, prioritize, and process records requests under all encompassing state and federal regulations pertaining to confidentiality, specifically 42 CFR Part 2 and substance use treatment records.
- Ensures patient safeguards and confidentiality are prioritized at all times when handling health information and patient records.
- Serves as a clinical documentation subject matter expert and contributes to training and quality improvement activities related to HIM.

Requirements
- Ability to accurately interpret and apply compliance policies and procedures in real-time documentation and request processing.

- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Health Administration, or related field preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in health information management, medical records processing, or related healthcare administrative roles preferred.
- Experience working with sensitive health data, including substance use treatment records and 42 CFR Part 2 compliance, strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and document management software.
- Regulatory & Technical Knowledge:
- Working knowledge of HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and other applicable federal and state regulations governing patient confidentiality and health information disclosure.
- Pay range
- $23 - $24 USD

Nice to have
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- RHIT, RHIA, or other relevant HIM certification preferred or willingness to obtain within one year of hire.
