About the role

  • This role is primarily hands-on, writing native iOS and Android code, with the expectation of contributing across our TV platforms (Apple TV, Fire TV/Android TV, Roku) as needed.
  • The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in at least one mobile platform, a willingness to work across all of them, and a strong command of AI-assisted development workflows that accelerate delivery and elevate team productivity.
  • This is a high-growth position with a clear path toward Staff-level engineering leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain native iOS and Android applications, delivering high-quality streaming experiences at scale.
  • Partner with BFF engineers to define API contracts and server-driven UI patterns that power the native experience layer.
  • Drive architectural decisions for the native platform, establishing shared patterns, reusable components, and cross-platform consistency.
  • Partner with product, design, and engineering leadership to translate business objectives into well-scoped technical work.
  • Collaborate closely with team members and contractors, contributing to quality standards and knowledge sharing across the squad.
  • Ownership mindset with a bias for action and a drive to solve hard problems.
  • Contributions to shared component libraries or design systems in a native mobile context.
  • That mission starts with our own team.
  • We believe that a diverse, inclusive workplace-one where different perspectives are sought out, heard, and valued-is essential to building a company that can truly serve the full spectrum of sports fans.
  • To help mitigate bias and expand opportunity, FloSports uses a blind recruiting process that supports more objective, inclusive hiring decisions.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor) and a track record of using them to accelerate delivery.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and experience collaborating with backend teams on API design and integration.

Skills

  • Strong proficiency in Swift and Kotlin with hands-on experience shipping production mobile applications.
  • Deep understanding of native mobile development patterns, architecture, and platform-specific best practices.
  • Familiarity with live streaming, video playback, or media-rich application development.
  • Experience working across multiple platforms or a demonstrated willingness to learn new ones.
  • Familiarity with app performance monitoring, crash reporting, and observability tooling.
  • Familiarity with mobile CI/CD pipelines and tooling (e.g., Fastlane, Bitrise, Xcode Cloud).
  • A growth-oriented mindset with curiosity to explore new technologies and platforms.
  • Experience with server-driven UI (SDUI) or backend-for-frontend (BFF) architecture patterns.
  • Experience with TV platform development (tvOS, Fire TV, Android TV, Roku).

Compensation
