About the role
- 20 hrs a week (4-5 hr shifts, 7 day a week program; Tues, 1-3 meeting mandatory weekly meeting.
- Schedule days can be discussed based onour needs and your availability.
- Provides feedback and perspective on the mental health system relative to the impact and effectiveness of the services provided.
Responsibilities
- Assists clients in identifying, understanding, and combating stigma and discrimination associated with mental illness and develop strategies to reduce self stigma.
- Assists other team members to identify and understand culture-wide stigma and discrimination against people with mental illness and develop strategies to eliminate stigma within the team.
- Increases awareness of and support client participation in consumer self-help programs and consumer advocacy organizations that promote recovery.
- Organizes and leads individual and group social and recreational activities to help clients structure their time, increase social experiences, and provide opportunities to practice social skills.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license and access to personal vehicle required.
Nice to have
- High School Diploma required.
- Peer Specialist Certification preferred.
