About the role

  • Essential Functions: Performance in each category will be evaluated based on measurable outcomes aligned to operational, financial, and quality metrics.
  • Place or supervise the placement of intravenous catheters for patients who wish to be sedated.
  • Under direct supervision of the Non-anesthesiologist Sedation Practitioner and working with recovery room personnel, provide post-anesthesia care.

Requirements

  • Education
  • Required: A registered nurse, advanced practice nurse, or physician assistant holding current license in the State of Illinois, who has successfully completed additional training to learn skills for administering and monitoring during intravenous sedation, up to and including moderate sedation. Must always have active BLS and ACLS certification throughout employment.
  • Experience

  • Must always have active BLS and ACLS certification throughout employment.
  • Previous work experience in the provision of sedation in an outpatient clinical setting preferred.

  • Willingness to travel within the area if necessary.
  • Willingness to work Saturdays.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear and use the phone.
  • The employee is frequently required to use hands and fingers to key in data, handle, or feel and reach.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Status: Temporary, Supplemental.
