About the role

This will primarily include delivering public programs and events for people of all ages.
This is a full-time seasonal position, working up to 40 hours per week, from approximately November 30, 2026 to April 28, 2027.
This position is based at Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary in Naples, Florida.

Creates a meaningful experience for program participants, while teaching an appreciation and respect for the natural environment.
Maintains and fosters a culture of safety and well-being for program participants, as well as cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining assigned areas and Sanctuary property.
Maintains and enhances existing activities/curriculum, including maintaining program materials and resources.
Supports procurement of supplies, marketing and promotion of programs and completes program related administrative duties.
Maintains and fosters culture of safety.
Demonstrated experience building relationships by establishing and nurturing meaningful connections and trust with others, while fostering an environment of inclusivity and respect.
Ability to solve problems and find solutions to challenges and support decision-making by drawing on critical thinking, creativity, and systematic approaches.
Through a collaborative, bipartisan approach across habitats, borders, and the political spectrum, Audubon drives meaningful and lasting conservation outcomes.

They may also occasionally support our visitor center by working at our admissions desk, nature store, or café, and performing facility and boardwalk closing duties, as required.
Supports admissions and retail operations throughout the Visitor Center, which may include assisting at the café and performing facility and boardwalk closing duties, as required.
High School, GED, or Vocational and 0-1 year of experience required.
Class E driver's license and ability to drive locally for off-site program delivery are required.
CPR & First Aid certified or the ability to become certified prior to employment is required.
Ability to work evenings and weekends is required.
Must be self-motivated, able to take initiative, handle multiple tasks, and be highly organized, with attention to detail.

Bachelor's degree (completed or in progress) in education, recreation, environmental studies / science, natural history, biology, geography or other related field preferred.
A combination of education and experience will be considered.
Minimum of two semesters/seasons of working in environmental education.
